Customs Clearance
Customs is not a separate step: import/export documents, classification, origin and value are prepared together with the transport. We prepare the documentation in advance to reduce the risk of delays and rework, coordinating customs clearance with partner customs brokers.
Many delays in international shipments do not arise during transport, but from an incomplete document, a wrong classification or a formality started too late. That is why VECTUM treats customs as a stage of the shipment: invoice, packing list, codes, origin and value are collected and checked when the transport is booked, not when the cargo is already at the port or airport.
Clearance is coordinated with partner customs brokers, while you have one contact who follows documents, timing and communications. The service supports all three areas: Time Critical shipments, where every hour lost in customs eats into the deadline; Global Freight by air, sea and road; and the distribution of goods arriving from outside the EU. For dangerous goods, classification, packaging and documents are checked against the rules of the transport mode before the cargo is handed to the carrier.
Documents and formalities move with the shipment: no hand-off between forwarder and customs broker.
Classification, origin and value checked before departure, to avoid holds and disputes.
Special procedures, dangerous goods and specialist formalities handled with qualified customs brokers and partners.

Specific dangerous goods requirements, handled separately from customs activities: classification, packaging and documentation checked before handover to the carrier.

Clearance on arrival and direct delivery to the plant, with no stops in a warehouse.
Classification, packaging and DG documents checked before handover to the carrier.
We coordinate customs clearance as part of the transport, working with partner customs brokers: you have one contact, and we take care of documents, timing and communication.
Usually a commercial invoice, a packing list and the data for the customs declaration; depending on the goods and destination, certificates of origin, licences or DG documents may be needed. We check them with you before departure.
